Resident Maureen enjoys first trip to the beach with daughter since COVID-19

Maureen Payne from Archers Court care home in Farringdon, Sunderland, was the first resident to venture out of the home and enjoy quality time with her daughter following the easing of COVID-19 guidelines.

Maureen thoroughly enjoyed her time away with her daughter Claire and made the most of their first time back together. They caught up on all things new from the past year during their walk along the seafront and over a delicious lunch of coffee and scones.

Maureen summed up her adventure “We had a lovely walk down the seafront and then sat outside and had a hot coffee to warm up before heading back home for a lunch in the garden. It was really nice to see her again after so long and I’m really looking forward to doing it again shortly.”

Sharon Easterbrook-Smith, Home Manager, commented “It was absolutely lovely to see Maureen getting ready for her outing with her daughter. She was so excited and thrilled when Claire arrived to take her out, they both left Archers Court with big smiles on their faces. It was such a special day for them to be together and enjoy the fresh air at Seaburn.”
