Remembrance Day At Nesfield Lodge

Resident’s and staff at Nesfield Lodge marked their respect on Remembrance Day by decorating their home.

The group filled the home with poppies and created display boards for everyone to see. They worked hard to create a memorial display of all the people that were in their thoughts on Remembrance Day.

The home held a 2-minute silence and watched the Westminster abbey service which bought up many feelings for residents, this led to them sharing their own experiences and memories with one another.

Residents kept busy by reading poetry and singing wartime songs, for many of them the memories of the war and its losses will stay with them forever so this was a lovely way to commemorate.

Activities Co-ordinator, Danielle Bird said, “all the residents did a fabulous job at creating the poppy display in the lounge area.”
