Wow Factor
We all know how important a first impression can be, so earlier this year, all our homes were invited to enter our “Wow Factor” competition. 25 homes entered and each of those homes were given £500 to transform their front entrance and give it… The Wow Factor!
Residents up and down the country revealed their hidden talents, their green fingers and got artsy and crafty, setting out to make their home look even more inviting and welcoming. But what would a competition be without a prize? The home that had the biggest transformation would win a whopping £5,000 that would be put straight into the residents’ fund to be spent on whatever residents’ desire or need.
Some homes were incredibly creative with their entrances; Castleford Lodge added sensory lavender and solar panels, Archers Court re-vamped their garden with new potted plants and a pebbled garden and Eckington Court transformed their entrance with a variety of garden ornaments, hanging baskets and a small welcome sign.
Sharon Logan, Group Head of Procurement and Estates said, “It has been amazing to see what a few licks of paint, a couple of potted plants and some decorative pieces can do to a home’s entrance. Everyone involved put in a lot of hard work for this project and the result paid off, the homes looked beautiful!”
However, there could only be one winner, and that winner was…
Penwortham Grange! Congratulations to all the residents and staff involved with transforming your front entrance gardens. All the hard work has paid off and £5,000 is on its way to you, let the celebrations commence!
But that’s not all! Due to the outstanding efforts of the homes we also awarded 2nd and 3rd place prizes…
Congratulations to Three Bridges that came in 2nd place! They took inspiration from Alice in wonderland with features including tea pots, glass bottles and a miniature door. In 3rd place we have Millfield! We loved the buzzy bees and ladybirds you painted onto rocks amongst all the other things you did.
£2,000 is on its way to Three Bridges and £1,000 is on its way to Millfield, you’ve earned it!
A huge congratulations all homes for taking part; the gardens look stunning and everyone involved should be extremely proud.
