Green Park’s open day was a huge success for all involved, taking the spotlight however, was none other than Batman! The 6 foot tall statue was donated by one of our resident’s sons a long with a variety of other trinkets all with a comic book theme. These items were all used as prizes for a silent auction, but this wasn’t the only activity that took place on the day. There were plenty of other games happening all across the home including a tombola, a raffle and hook a duck! All of these games were raising money for the residents fund and raised a total of £374.

Games weren’t the only attraction at Green Park. Entertainer Carl Gordon, provided music for the day and his great voice and interaction with the residents got them up and moving to the music! This was Carl’s first time at the home and he will certainly be invited back again.

A great time was had by all, and has been a talking point in the home for quite some time now. One of the quieter residents who doesn’t often get involved in the activities said “He had an amazing day”.

Open Days are a key part to the service that Orchard Care Homes provides, “At the heart of the community” is something we really mean and strive to achieve.

We can’t wait for the next one!
