Three Bridges Care Home has received a positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, after an unannounced visit from representatives in May, which records the home as overall GOOD. Located in Latchford, a suburb of Warrington, Cheshire, Three Bridges is a modern two-storey home for up to 53 older people, specialising in the care of older people, some who are living with dementia. The report has rated the home good for all five areas of being safe, effective, caring, well-led and responsive. Highlighted were the positive refurbishments to the home, including the addition of a 'dementia strategy', which uses themed wallpaper such as seaside scenes, and tactile objects including hats and scarves throughout the communal areas. Signage and memory boxes are also in use to help people’s orientation and create an environment that is more dementia friendly. Ratings are given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC team, and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives. The report is part of CQC's programme of inspections. Comments in the report include; "There are lots of staff on duty. Just ask and they help." "The food is good, I'm a fussy devil." "My bedroom is lovely. I have my own things around me." "I'm treated like an individual." Valerie Marston, Home Manager, said; “We are extremely pleased to have received a good rating in all areas of our home, it’s a positive endorsement of the way the home is run and those working within it. “To have the opportunity to hear comments back from all different people, including staff, residents and their families, it’s lovely. People said some very positive things and it feels like this is recognition for the hard work that goes into creating and maintaining a happy home with happy residents. We’re proud of the outcome of the report.”
