A Royal Affair at RoSPA's Garden Party

07 July 2017 News

This year the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents, RoSPA, was invited to host a garden party at Buckingham Palace. Gill Jackson, Training Manager at Orchard Care Homes, was invited to attend the event, together with over 3,500 guests who have contributed to the work of RoSPA in reducing accidents in the workplace. RoSPA is a key provider of health and safety training, and Training Executives from Orchard Care Homes pass on their own training and knowledge to staff working within the Orchard group of homes. Courses include moving and positioning, health and safety and risk assessment training. Guests included His Royal Highness The Duke of York and Princess Eugenie of York, and celebrations in addition to afternoon tea in the sun, included an award ceremony and demonstration from the Yeoman of the Guard. Gill said; “It was an honour to attend the event and I felt this was a very special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The sun shone brightly all day and there was an amazing atmosphere. To be personally invited made me realise what a difference those in our sector make, people in our company and even me as an individual! “ “With my team, we work extremely hard each and every day to improve the lives of our residents and increase their safety, and I have shared the positive feedback with the team…in addition to some Royal treats! it was a surprise and delight to be thanked in such a special way.” For regular updates on news and events in our homes, follow us on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/orchardcarehome/
