A performance of ‘Grease: the musical’ was enjoyed by residents from Lansbury Court in Sunderland recently, as they spent an evening at the Newcastle Theatre Royal. Residents Susan, Emily, Rita, Mary and Betty, went along to see the hit American 50s-style musical, together with Activity Coordinators Christine Callaghan and Alison Tribe. The group enjoyed a pre-theatre drink in a local pub before getting into the spirit of the occasion, singing along to the songs, clapping their hands, and tapping their feet. Rita commented, “It was such a fun evening with a lot of laughter, we all really enjoyed it. I loved singing along to the songs and admiring the costumes, it certainly took me back.” Activity Coordinator Christine said, “Musical performances are always popular in the home, as are trips out into the local area. Being able to combine the two always makes for a particularly special occasion. Grease is a cult classic across multiple generations, and we all enjoyed the performance enormously.” To keep up to date with news from the home, follow us on facebook.com/orchardcarehome/
