Residents at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge, in West Yorkshire, recently enjoyed a morning craft session based around creating sensory items. Creative ageing charity Equal Arts delivered the session, which saw residents take part in creating pieces of art using a variety of mediums. Artwork included pieces using felt, tissue paper, feathers, cardboard, pipe cleaners, and craft paper of various colours and densities. The focus of the morning was on self-expression and enjoyment. Activity Coordinator Janine said, “Everyone really enjoyed the session given by Sarah from Equal Arts. There was lots of opportunity for discussion, but primarily, the focus was on mindfulness through creativity.” One residents commented, “Sarah was wonderful, we all had a good laugh and made some interesting things. The morning flew by.” To keep up to date with news from the home, follow us on Facebook.com/orchardarehome/
