Nadine makes a difference at local care home
A dedicated Care Assistant from Middleton Park Lodge Care Home in Middleton, Leeds, has received a Making a Difference Award in recognition of her 5-year service and commitment to supporting staff and residents. Her loyalty to provide the best care possible has seen her go above and beyond during the coronavirus pandemic to ensure all residents felt safe and secure.
Nadine Parker was recently declared a winner in our Making a Difference Award scheme. This initiative recognises and rewards staff that go that extra mile in their workplace and inspire others to follow in their footsteps to improve the home experience and generate a relaxed and informal community for our residents.
Nadine, who was over the moon to receive her award and be commended for her hard work said, “The past 20 months have been the hardest I’ve had to go through during my 5-year service in the care sector and this award came as such a nice surprise. I’m honoured to receive this and be recognition for my work for the residents at Middleton Park Lodge.”
Deputy Manager, Richard Williams, reflected on Nadine’s achievements saying, “Nadine is a valuable member of the team who is flexible and always willing to go the extra mile for everyone’s benefit. She recently demonstrated this when a resident fell ill and was taken to hospital. Despite Nadine already finishing her 12-hour shift, she returned to work later that day and stayed by the resident’s side throughout her time in the hospital to calm her nerves and anxiety, before finally making it home at 5:30 the next morning. Her hard work and passion to provide the best quality of care makes us all proud. Well done and thank you Nadine.”
The devoted and passionate employees at Orchard help to achieve the positive people-focused approach to care and the Making a Difference initiative aims to retain these existing staff members and attract new recruits into the sector.
