Residents in three of our homes across the country, Penwortham Grange & Lodge, Green Park and Three Bridges, have recently been working with the non-profit organisation Music in Mind, which works to use music to aid learning, health and happiness. Music is a language spoken and understood by all, and it has the ability to provoke memories for many of our residents, bringing people closer together to have fun in a safe and positive environment. During July, residents and staff from Penwortham Grange took to the floor to sing and dance along to well-loved songs from the past, which was an enjoyable afternoon for everyone. Green Park and Three Bridges also took part in sessions, with residents taking the opportunity to try out a multitude of instruments including the drums, maracas and tambourines. One carer stated “It was great to see everyone engaged and having a good time. We have had numerous requests from the residents to take part in Music in Mind sessions again and for the duo to visit us again soon.”
