Hayden Knight, CEO of Orchard Care Homes, joins Care England’s Policy Board

17 October 2024 News

Since becoming our CEO in 2019, Hayden has led Orchard’s mission to provide truly individualised care, and has spearheaded the launch of our dementia-specialist Reconnect communities and innovative tech solutions in our homes. Now, 5 years on, we’re pleased to announce that Hayden has accepted a key policy board role at Care England!

As the largest representative body for independent providers of adult social care in England, joining Care England's Policy Board is a fantastic opportunity to improve and develop vital areas of adult social care.

The exciting news came after Professor Martin Green OBE, Chief Executive of Care England, visited two of our Leeds care homes in June to see first-hand the positive, person-centred approach to care adopted in our homes. With both Middleton Park Lodge and Paisley Lodge having dementia-friendly Reconnect communities, Professor Green OBE was able to meet residents who are enjoying their new, home-away-from-home community.

“Hayden will be a valuable addition to Care England's Policy Board because he brings a wealth of experience and a track record of innovation in the social care sector” said Professor Green OBE. “Orchard Care Homes has a clear focus on specialisation and is not averse to taking positive risks.”

Working alongside the Policy Board members, Hayden will use his expertise to identify major issues in the social care sector and develop key strategy priorities for Care England. “I’m delighted to be entrusted with this role for Care England." said Hayden. "It's vital for our people to be well represented and their interests taken into consideration as our sector undergoes rapid change now and into the future.”

Taking up his role with immediate effect, Hayden will be contributing to the ongoing workforce, digital transformation and funding priorities led by the policy board. From the entire team at Orchard Care Homes, we’d like to give a huge congratulations to Hayden and his exciting new role at Care England – we know you’ll do great things!
