A Bond Beyond Words – Celebrating International Daughters Day at Eaton Court

29 September 2025 News

This International Daughters Day, we’re proud to celebrate two members of the Eaton Court team who share more than just a job - they share a unique mother-daughter bond. We spoke with them about the joys and challenges of working side by side, and the special connection that makes their teamwork truly one of a kind.

Stacey,  Senior Carer, has been part of the Eaton Court team for four years. Not long after, her daughter Molly joined the team – and for the past three and a half years, she has grown into a compassionate and dedicated carer, following in her mum’s footsteps.

“I’ve always wanted to help people,” Molly shares. “So I made the decision to change my career and do something that fulfils me, whilst giving back to the local community in Grimsby.”

Stacey beams with pride when she talks about Molly’s journey: “It’s fantastic that I get to see my daughter grow into a beautiful young woman who makes our residents smile. She’s very compassionate and has truly thrived in her role.”

Despite working in the same home, Stacey and Molly maintain a strong sense of professionalism and a lot of mutual respect. “We treat each other with professionalism when we’re at work,” says Stacey. “Even though we might work the same shifts, we don’t always see each other that much,” Molly adds with a laugh. “I still call her ‘Mum’ though – calling her Stacey just feels weird!”

Their working relationship has helped strengthen their personal bond too. “Since working together, we’ve grown even closer,” says Stacey. “It’s shaped how we approach life and our relationship in such a positive way. “

“I think we understand each other more now,” Molly agrees. “It’s improved our bond – I don’t think our relationship has ever been better.”

Stacey and Molly recognise that balancing work and home life isn’t always easy. However, with the support of their close-knit team at Eaton Court and each other, they always manage to overcome any challenges.

“We lean on each other,” Stacey says. “And we’re fortunate to have a fantastic group of colleagues who support us as well.”

“If we ever have a disagreement, we talk it through and support one another,” Molly explains. “I often turn to Mum when I’ve had a tough day mentally – I think that’s something many mothers and daughters can relate to.”

For both of them, working at Eaton Court is about more than just doing a job – it’s about making a difference. “Every day is different,” Molly says. “There’s so much variety, and helping our residents to feel happy and thrive is what makes it all worthwhile.”
“It’s a real privilege to care for others,” Stacey adds. “And doing it alongside my daughter makes it even more special.”
