Warrington Mayor Opens Brand New Dementia+ Unit at Green Park

Watch this short video from the Green Park Care Home based in Warrington a specialist dementia care home, the home receives a boost thanks to a brand new 18-bed Dementia+ Unit which was officially opened by Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Les Morgan on Friday 16th February.

Significant investment has been made in the 103-bed home, to create an enhanced setting that meets the needs of residents with advanced dementia and more complex needs, together with creating a positive working environment that supports the care and auxiliary teams.

The investment has seen the development of several dementia-specific features on the new unit, including Reminiscence rooms set out as a parlor and cafe, to positively enhance resident surroundings. Additional multi-purpose rooms have been added to enable mood-boosting activities. Wearable technology that interacts with the nursing call system has been installed to enable residents to call for assistance.

Safe and secure garden area

An environment suited to and supporting staffing levels that are tailored to the heightened needs of the unit has access to garden areas, allowing residents to experience the benefits of a safe and secure outdoor space.
