Paisley Lodge Care Home becomes entirely dedicated to specialist dementia care

Rated 'Good' by CQC, Paisley Lodge has opened the doors to their second Reconnect specialist dementia care community!

After the successful launch of their first Reconnect community in 2022, our Leeds care home has now become entirely dedicated to specialist dementia care, with two innovative Reconnect communities spread across two floors.

Paisley Lodge’s second Reconnect community, which opened in January 2025, has already welcomed residents through its doors and is continuing to help support the ongoing demand for more dementia-specialist care homes in the UK. Orchard Care Homes are proud to have now launched 10 Reconnect communities since 2019, each offering an enhanced, innovative and holistic level of dementia care for its residents.

With 41 newly renovated bedrooms, Paisley Lodge boasts ample space to relax or socialise, with homely living rooms, fully-equipped kitchens, laundry facilities, a gardening room and even a games room. Residents can use these areas as they wish, so whether they want to try out a new hobby or unwind with their favourite book, the choice is theirs! 

What is a Reconnect community? Our Reconnect communities are, as the name suggests, designed to help people reconnect with their lives and continue doing what they’ve always loved. The home-away-from-home-environments in our dementia-friendly communities reflect the warm, cosy spaces our residents have always enjoyed in their own homes, but with additional features they may find beneficial; such as hand rails, wheelchair-friendly wet rooms and adjustable beds.

The Reconnect communities at Paisley Lodge have also welcomed the addition of a higher ratio of carers, nurses and dementia support workers; all of whom have received enhanced training in dementia care. Because of this training, which was developed by our Head of Dementia, Hannah Miller, the team at Paisley Lodge are able to genuinely understand the needs of a person living with dementia, and put practical, effective care plans in place.

Paisley Lodge recently hosted an open day to showcase what our Reconnect communities can offer, and welcomed local GP’s, social workers and other health professionals to the care home. Measha, Home Manager at Paisley Lodge Care Home, told us how excited she is to help make a difference to even more people in the Leeds area. “I’m so proud to be part of the Paisley Lodge team and support our residents to truly thrive in their new surroundings. 2025 is going to be a very special year!”
