Orchard Care Home's Bake Off Challenge

The third annual Bake Off competition will launch this May 2017, when Orchard Care Homes across the country are invited to get cake-creative on the theme of the ‘British Summer’. Royal street parties, cupcake merry-go-rounds and bejewelled crowns were just some of the highlights from 2016. Last year’s competition saw the highest participation to date, with over 50 homes submitting their cakes, which had been inspired and created together with the residents in the homes.   “We are extremely delighted to be launching this year’s Bake Off.” Says Food & Beverage Manager Dianne Lilley. “Bake Off seasons is always a very enjoyable time, particularly for the judges, and we are regularly impressed by the creativity and skill of our cooks and their teams. “Last year the winning home’s residents presented some beautiful crème pate figurines, so we are looking forward to seeing what this year’s theme will inspire.” The photo is of last years winner, Lymewood Court.  Each region of the Group’s homes will be judged by a panel and anonymously graded by the peers in their region.
