MONTH long festive celebrations for the residents of Middleton Park, Leeds!
Middleton Park Lodge Nursing Home takes us through some of their Christmas activities in the month of December. From Santa Claus coming down the home chimney, to parties and visits out of the home, shopping and attending mass. It was an exciting month for the home, to say the least!
The Travelling Nativity, from Middleton Cross Church, joined the home and performed a festive nativity scene, including baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph. There was live music and the home came together to sing carols harmonically.
The activities staff set up a snow globe making station and had a variety of arts and crafts available for the residents to participate in throughout the month! The residents favoured the snow globes and some even said ‘I loved making these globes, I will give it to my family as a gift’ and ‘what a wonderful afternoon’.
There was multiple visits out of the home in the month of December. The residents had the opportunity to visit religious places of worship as well as White Rose Shopping Centre to hit the shops and shop until they could shop no more.
For many of us, it wouldn’t be Christmas without spending time with our loved ones and pigging out on delicious food! Middleton Park organised a 3 course Christmas dinner for the residents to enjoy with their loved ones and it went down a treat! Mrs. G saying ‘it has made my month seeing my loved ones… this is exactly what Christmas is about’.
The residents were also surprised with gifts on Christmas day! The smiles speak for themselves! Mr. C said ‘ its lovely to see everyone so happy and having so much fun opening their gifts’.
What a brilliant month for the people of Middleton Park Lodge Nursing Home! We can't wait to see what they have planned for NYE and 2024!
