Christmas Cheer arrives at Eckington Court!
Eckington Court Nursing Home had some eagerly anticipated visitors on the 23rd of December.
The home welcomed a 6 horse parade followed by a grand brass band in the afternoon. All of the horses and riders were dressed in dressed in different festive outfits, including Santa, The Grinch and Elsa just to name a few!
Elkington’s residents spent the afternoon meeting the horses, stroking them and learning a bit more about them. The fan favourite of the afternoon was Troy, a black Friesian horse and its owner, Claire, dressed as Santa
The surprises didn’t stop there! The home organised a very special performance to take place in the courtyard. A brass band! The group played Christmas classics and the residents sang along with the carols.
After all the singing, everyone was invited to enjoy a luxury hot chocolate, homemade mince pies and sugar cubes and carrots for the horses.
