Lansbury Court long service awards: A celebration of hard work and dedication
2025 marks a very special year for Lansbury Court Care Home in Castletown, as we celebrate three incredible ladies who have dedicated many years to the home. Carol, Sarah and Gwen all celebrated their ‘workaversaries’ in style, with cake, presents and a surprise visit from CEO Hayden!

The lovely kitchen team whipped up two delicious homemade cakes for the ladies to enjoy and share with the team, and the room was decorated with balloons. It was an afternoon filled with happiness and appreciation for the hard work that everyone puts into making Lansbury Court the wonderful care home that it is.
Celebrating 15 years at the home was Carol White who has dedicated her time to being Activities Coordinator and Care Assistant. She is a real asset to the team and never ceases to amaze everyone with her creative activity ideas.
Carol told us: “My favourite thing about working here is that the team are very supportive and it feels like being part of an extended family.”
Meanwhile, Senior Care Assistant Sarah Percy is proud to have worked at the home for an impressive 20 years. Her unwavering helpful attitude makes her an important member of the care team.

And finally, Domestic Housekeeper Gwen Arnott has shown 30 years of dedication and commitment to every task she has been faced with. Over this time, she has had a variety of different roles within the home.
If Gwen was to share one piece of advice with somebody looking to work in the care sector, she would say: “You have to always be willing and prepared to work as a team. Everyone helps each other in the care sector – it’s all about teamwork and helping every department as much as you can.”
Home Manager Marlena and the rest of the team are so grateful for Carol, Sarah and Gwen. They face everything with a smile on their face and are always looking at ways they can help others.
