Eaton Court, in Grimsby has received a positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report, which records the home as overall GOOD. Representatives from CQC undertook unannounced visits to the home on 16th & 19th February 2018, and the report has rated the home good across all five key areas for being safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. The home provides residential and nursing care for up to 45 older people, some of whom are living with dementia. The report highlighted the progress the home has made since its last inspection, focusing on the enhanced activities provision, and the rollout of new electronic care record systems (eCare planning). The report also highlighted the openness and transparency of the home manager, the robust recruitment and training procedures, as well as further developments in specialist dementia provision, including a new sensory room, and 1950s reminiscence lounge. Ratings are given based on observations of the home by the unannounced CQC team, and on conversations with staff, residents and their relatives. The report is part of CQC's programme of inspections. Comments include; "The training is second to none with excellent support from the manager provided, everyone is happy to help, if I need it" "The manager is very open and straightforward; I can approach them at any time." "I just love my job, it's like family here" "My room is cleaned every day; they even change my bed every day; it is very clean." "We have activities in the morning and quizzes and reminisces, it keeps my mind active, love it". "Staff help me to do whatever I want." Home Manager Tracy Gibbett commented; “We are all absolutely delighted with the good rating, and I am extremely pleased to hear that staff enjoy working here and feel supported. The team have worked incredibly hard to enhance life in the home for all residents, and we are looking forward to continuing the development of the communal areas, and activities provision. ” Tracey Tomlinson, Group Head of Sales and Marketing at Orchard Care Homes, commented “This report shows that, under Tracy’s leadership, the team at Eaton Court has significantly improved standards in the home, and should all be extremely proud of the results.
