Blooming Good Fun in Teesside
Residents from Green Lodge, in Teesside, have been preparing for the warmer weather, by planting a number of flower bulbs ready to enjoy in the 55-bed home’s garden in summer. The group, comprising Sylvia, Margaret, Mary, and Robert, got together with a number of their relatives and potted a range of bulbs in temporary pots, in the home’s activities room. The bulbs, including popular favourites Freesias and Begonias, are set to bloom during summer, when the green-fingered gang hope to move the display outside. Activity Coordinator Emma Kemp commented, “Everyone is excited for the warmer weather to eventually arrive, and what better way to welcome it in, than through potting some plants ready for the garden. Both residents and their families have been getting involved, and we now have a large variety of plants potted ready for summer.” Resident Sylvia added, “Planting the bulbs certainly brings back a lot of happy memories of spring afternoons ‘potting up’ when the weather was turning. I am really looking forward to enjoying the bright colours when the flowers eventually bloom.” To keep up to date with news from the home, follow us on Facebook and YouTube.
