Touch of Kindness for Ashlea Mews Staff

12 March 2021 News

Staff at Ashlea Mews care home in South Shields have received recognition for all their hard work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The home was nominated for an award by Tracey Brydon, the granddaughter of Belle Williamson, a resident who lived at the home for almost 4 years. Tracey wanted to acknowledge the tremendous support the staff at Ashlea Mews had given her grandmother during her stay and the continued great work they have done over the past year.

Tracey put the home forward to receive kindness bags from The People’s Angels, a charity helping local families in South Shields, as a way of acknowledging their efforts and making sure the staff knew they were very much appreciated.

Home Manager Vicki Yeoman said, “It was a lovely gesture by Tracey and every member of staff received a bag full of goodies. In these difficult times, it’s nice to know that we are making our residents’ lives as comfortable, safe, and secure as possible and we really appreciate the acknowledgement.  It also shows that we continue to keep good links with Tracey, who always recommends us to other families and has supported us for some years now.”
