Reconnect Residents Strike Up a Friendship at Ashlea Lodge
With the help of staff, residents from the reconnect unit at Ashlea Lodge bonded over their creativity.
Ian and James from the reconnect floor have advanced dementia and a high dependency of care so find it difficult to socialise and spend time with other residents. Ian is usually seen walking along the corridors of the home and seldom gets involved with activities, however through encouragement from the staff, he was found relaxed and having a great conversation with James.
They sat together and painted whilst chatting like old friends and enjoying the afternoon together. The staff have worked extremely hard to help the gentleman get to this stage and were delighted to see them bonding.
