This summer, colleagues based in the Orchard Care Homes Harrogate Support Centre pledged to ‘go the extra mile’, in support of the Care Workers charity, raising over £1, 000 via a sponsored walk. The Care Workers Charity is an organisation dedicated to helping to support people who work in the care sector, including current, former and retired care workers in a number of different ways. As part of the charity’s ‘Going the Extra Mile’ campaign, colleagues undertook a team walk, and brought in baked goods to sell. Finance Officer Deb Elson, who organised the event said, “We are delighted with the amount raised, which will go to a charity that is very close to all of our hearts. We never know when we may need care, and this was a great opportunity to reflect on the vital work our frontline colleagues do, and to show our appreciation for this. “We are incredibly proud to be working with the Care Workers Charity, as a member of their Supporters’ Club, and are already looking forward to our next fundraising event.” To keep up to date with news from Orchard Care Homes, follow us on Facebook and YouTube
