St George’s Day at Ashlea Mews Care Home
Our South Shields care home, Ashlea Mews started their St George’s Day celebrations with painting and games!
Residents from the home settled down to paint pictures of flags and knights, they found that the activity made them feel relaxed, calm and before they knew it they had painted several pictures, “I find this so enjoyable and soothing,” Rita M said.
Then came the exciting part, parading their flags, they loved seeing each other’s creations and had great fun. It was not long before there was music playing and both residents and staff were enjoying a sing-along, they reminisced about their favourite songs and sang the praises of British artists such as The Beatles!
The day ended with a good old game of Bingo as Jack told the staff, “I love being involved in everything that I can.”
