Resident Helen from Cherry Trees Begins Chinese New Year Celebrations

The activities staff from Cherry Trees Care Home took resident Helen to the local community centre to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Helen used to visit the community centre for many years before moving into the home so the staff at Cherry Trees thought this would be the perfect surprise for her. Once they got to the centre Helen was in great spirits, she enjoyed traditional Chinese food and had Chinese tea.

Helen’s friend Jo, works at the centre so she loved meeting up with her again alongside many other friends, some of whom she had not seen for many years. Helen sat and spoke with her friends, joining in with arts and crafts and dances. She spoke about how she really wished she had continued going to the centre, so the staff have now decided that they will regularly take Helen there to meet up with her friends.
