Residents and their families enjoyed a coffee morning with cake, shortbread and muffins, followed by an art activity, during a spring open day at Ashlea Mews.   The group at the South Shields home spent the afternoon creating decorative stones for the outdoor space of the home. The stones, hand-picked from Marsden Beach by Activity Coordinator, Lauren, were painted by the residents and will be covered in protective clear gloss to help them stand out in the garden. Lauren commented, “We had a fantastic day and we’re looking forward to enhancing the garden in time for summer. Residents have also been building and painting their own wooden bird houses, which we already have eight of”.
