Lansbury Court Smile Through Sport

Sunderland care home Lansbury Court welcomed Gareth from Smile Through Sport into their home for an armchair exercise session.

Gareth’s visit was very well welcomed by the residents as they couldn’t wait to get stuck into the exercises. They didn’t waste any time in starting a game of Volleyball, residents reminisced about the games they spent their childhood playing whilst they hit the ball.

After Volleyball they moved onto Boccia, Gareth went through the rules with them and then they got started. He was amazed by how great the residents were and smiled away as he watched them play.

Nora told staff that she enjoyed herself, “I’m 97 years old and didn’t think I would still be able to play Volleyball, but I managed very well.”
