Residents from Green Park care home in Warrington are part of a Silver Service Club within their local community. The club, hosted by volunteers in the local area, takes place at Westy Community Centre in Latchford and involves older members of the community getting together to enjoy good food, good company and entertainment.   A group from the Warrington home attends twice a month and the most recent visit included a hearty lunch of pie with chunky chips, followed by live music. One new resident in the home said, “I had a really fantastic time”.   A volunteer at the centre commented, “It is always a pleasure to see the residents from Green Park”.   Karen, Activity Coordinator at Green Park, said “We always receive a warm welcome at the community centre, greeted each time with a hot drink and biscuits. Being part of the Silver Service Club is a brilliant chance for us to socialise and get to know people in our local area”.   Pictured is a resident from the home and Silver Service member, enjoying time spent at the community centre with the club.
