Great British Care Awards' Finalists

There has been a flurry of excitement across Orchard Care Homes and staff this past week as the regional finalists for the Great British Care Awards are announced and judging interviews have taken place for five different awards for the Company. The Awards celebrate excellence within the care sector, and regional events provide a moment to shine for those individuals nominated. “We’re absolutely delighted to see our staff, and the Company, nominated for the awards.” Comments Commercial Director Tracey Tomlinson, “here is a wealth of talent and dedicated individuals working within our homes, and it means a great deal to see this acknowledged at such a level.” The regional awards will be held in Newcastle, Manchester and Leeds, with winners invited to the National Finals, held in Birmingham in March 2018. Yorkshire & Humberside Angie Pugh, Head Cook at Nesfield Lodge in Leeds, is shortlisted for the Care Home Cook/Chef award. This is Angie’s second national award nomination after becoming a finalist in the National Association of Care Catering Awards earlier this year. Lisa Webster and Lisa Glynn, Activity Coordinators for Cherry Trees in South Yorkshire, are jointly shortlisted for the Activity Organiser award for the Yorkshire & Humberside region. The Company is shortlisted for the Care Employer in the Yorkshire & Humberside region. North West Tracey Booth, Activity Coordinator for Haslingden Hall & Lodge, in Lancashire, is shortlisted for the Activity Organiser Award North East Karl Fazakerley, Deputy Manager of Archers Park in Sunderland, is shortlisted for the Frontline Leader Award.
