Remember, remember the 5th of November? Up and down the country, people have been celebrating bonfire night, and residents at Eckington Court got creative in their recent celebrations.

Newly appointed Activity Co-Ordinator, Anita Marsden, had the brilliant idea of making firework themed skewers. Using fruits, marshmallows, chocolate and sprinkles, participants made some yummy treats! The skewers looked and tasted delicious and were a lot of fun to make. “Residents tasted the food as they went along, especially, Cissie Hirst, who ate more than she skewered!”

The day ended with delicious bonfire night grub of Pie and Peas, knocked up by Eckington Court’s very own kitchen staff. After everybody was stuffed, everyone wrapped up warm and family and friends were invited to attend a small fireworks display that promised no bangs. Everyone watched in joy as the garden lit up with a flurry of colours. “Catherine Wheels are my favourite.” Commented Cissie.

It was a fantastic day, which was enjoyed by all.
