Bake Off at Green Park Care Home

Residents from the Reconnect unit and the Cavendish unit at Green Park took part in a baking competition.

They took on two different desserts of their choice with the Cavendish unit making a bread and butter pudding and the Reconnect unit making a cherry pie. Both groups got stuck into the activity and with the help of staff produced some fantastic dishes.

Residents on the Reconnect unit helped staff mix together ingredients for the pastry and then roll it out, staff couldn’t help but notice the smiles on residents faces as they got involved. Everyone was looking forward to the end result and couldn’t wait until it was time for the taste test. The desserts were judged and tasted by residents Bill and Jackie who work in the kitchen, they were very impressed with both dishes, after a difficult decision they decided the bread and butter pudding was the winner.

Residents from the Cavendish unit were very pleased with their win and can’t wait to get back into the kitchen.
