Ashlea Mews Residents Gordon and Margaret Celebrate 63 Years of Love
At the start of March South Shields care home, Ashlea Mews hosted a party to celebrate residents Gordon and Margaret’s 63rd wedding anniversary.
The couple got married in 1957 and have been inseparable ever since. They both moved into the home very recently and are often found sitting side by side holding hands.
Gordon and Margaret met at Butlins in Filey many years ago, although they were both residing in opposite sides of the country this did not stop them being together, Gordon moved from Manchester to South Shields to be with his loved one and says it is the best decision he ever made.
In honour of their love, the staff organised a tea party, amongst the visitors, were some of their 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Everyone sat in awe as the happy couple shared some of their favourite memories and reminisced about how far they have come as a couple.
The day was a great celebration of the wonderful life Margaret and Gordon have had together and we can’t wait for them to make more great memories at Ashlea Mews care home.
“We have had a wonderful day with lovely company, thank you all for making it special,” said Margaret.
