The homes were extra competitive this year! They got colleagues and residents involved to give them the best shot at winning the prize.
Archers Court in Sunderland created a festive scene on top of their cake, including edible snowmen created by the residents, traditional nutcrackers and red bows.
Castleford Lodge care home in Wakefield shaped not one, but two cakes to look ultra realistic! One with piped green buttercream to resemble a Christmas tree with real working lights! And another in the shape of an igloo with Santa, a reindeer and a snowman.
Chatsworth Lodge in Chesterfield baked a traditional Christmas cake with an intricate sprinkle star and bell detailing.
Eaton Court in Grimsby also made a delicious traditional Christmas fruit cake with a festive red and gold belt trim and fondant characters on top of the cake, including Santa and frosty the snowman.

Middleton’s cake was a classic Christmas pudding cake with a white chocolate drip. The home jazzed it up with cranberries and an edible holly leaf.

We can all agree that all of the cakes look unbelievable and there is some serious talent at all of the homes! But there can only be one winner! Drumroll please…. This years winning trophy goes to LANGFIELD!
Vivienne Daly, Home Manager at Langfield said ‘The team will be over the moon to have won this year, they put so much effort and time into this beautiful creation and they deserve this. Huge congratulations to all homes- your cakes looked ace!’.
