03 October 2019 News

boccia.jpgThe group at Lansbury Court teamed up with company Smile Through Sport to stay active and played some fun games.

This was a fun and interactive session of sport as the residents got fully involved in Boccia. One of the leaders Gareth showed everyone how to play the game and informed them of all the rules and then it was time to get the game started. Everyone had lots of fun as they propelled the ball and aimed it towards the marker, the aim of the game was to get the ball as close as you can to the marker.

Gareth told the group that this is one of the only games in Paralympics that can be enjoyed by everyone, which amazed the residents.  Edith said, “it was so nice to all take part as a team!” This was the first visit from the company and the home are already anticipating the next one and can’t wait to play some more fun games like Boccia.
