Cherry Trees Care Home in Rotherham, were surprised by a very special visitor recently, who stands at only about 30 inches tall.

No it’s not a dog, nor is it one of Santa’s elves, it’s a Shetland Pony! Fifi, the 7-year-old pony recently visited the Rotherham Care Home and residents were delighted. Fifi was the centre of attention as everyone was queuing up to pet, feed and walk Fifi around the home.

“Our residents absolutely loved Fifi, they couldn’t get enough! Many said that they had never seen a Shetland Pony in real life and that they were so happy that they had the opportunity to do so.” Commented, Lisa Webster, Activities Co-Ordinator at Cherry Trees.

The visit proved to be a huge success, with resident’s interacting and bonding with Fifi, these are incredibly therapeutic for the residents, which was easy to see from the smiles on their faces.

After the success of this visit, Cherry Trees are looking forward to the Spring time, where they will be bringing in Lambs for everyone to pet and feed.

What an aNEIGHzing day!
