Orchard Care Homes Supports The Care Workers’ Charity Fundraising Efforts
Orchard Care Homes has signed up to raise money for a leading sector charity The Care Workers’ Charity in their Going the Extra Mile “Around the World” initiative.
The initiative is aimed at raising much-needed funds to support those people working in social care. Ten teams from across our workforce are participating in daily health and wellbeing challenges, including home-based, field-based and support centre staff. The 86 Orchard employees that make up the teams represent 25% of the total number of participants in the challenge.
Over a period of 4 weeks (20th July – 14th August) colleagues and teams will compete to earn Kaido Points for positive improvements they make to their physical and mental health. These points fuel their progress along a virtual journey ‘Around the World’ following in the footsteps of the intrepid explorer Phileas Fogg!
Kaido challenges are specifically designed to drive engagement, boost morale and improve connectivity between colleagues, whilst helping them to look after their physical and mental health in a fun and interactive way.
Our CEO, Hayden Knight, said “We are taking on this challenge to promote health and wellbeing across our organisation, to show our appreciation and thanks to social care workers and to raise funds for CWC.
“The enthusiasm and commitment our workers and those across the sector have displayed during the COVID-19 pandemic is nothing short of outstanding. The impact on the sector is devastating. However, we have always seen lots of examples of our workers and residents enjoying life and having fun during the difficult period of social distancing and relatives unable to visit.”
We are encouraging everyone to show their support for team members, care home colleagues and workers in social care across the sector by donating at our Just Giving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/orchardcare-homes.
