Orchard Care Homes appoints second Dual-Site Registered Manager

Orchard Care Homes are pleased to announce Sharon Easterbrook-Smith, from Archers Court Nursing Care Home, has accepted the role of Dual-Site Registered Manager!

Based in Sunderland, Sharon will now take the role of Registered Manager for both Green Lodge Care Home and Archers Court Nursing Care Home, our centre of excellence for dementia care.

Since joining the Orchard Care Homes team in 2018, Sharon has used her person-centred approach to care to create a warm, friendly and happy environment at Archers Court, which she attributes to her childhood experience with care homes.

“I’ve always known I wanted to care for others and make a positive and meaningful difference to their lives” said Sharon, when asked about her career in care. “Since I was a child, I’ve enjoyed caring for others – in particular the elderly. My childhood home was opposite a residential home, and I used to love waving at the residents and supporting them out in the community!”

Sharon started her career in care in 1988, as a volunteer for her local residential care home. Now Registered Manager for two of our Sunderland care homes, Sharon will play a major role in promoting positive change, including the implementation of our Mission, Vision and Values, and being an advocate for exceptional dementia care.

Her positivity, drive to succeed, strong leadership skills and excellent track record made her the perfect fit for the post. As Dual-Site Registered Manager, Sharon will be working closely with Debbie (Green Lodge) and Jack (Archers Court) to support pivotal new developments, such as our innovative Reconnect communities. “I think Sharon will do amazing in her new role due to her dedication to making our people’s lives brighter. Sharon had a huge impact at Archers Court by being there for the team and our people, always being approachable and taking the time to listen.” – Jack Taylor, General Manager at Archers Court.

Debbie, General Manager at Green Lodge, told us how she’s looking forward to learning from Sharon. “I’m really looking forward to working closely with Sharon, who is a very experienced manager, and I’m hoping I will continue to learn from her and grow in to my role with the support she will give me. Sharon is an excellent fit for the home and I’m looking forward to what her knowledge will bring to our home - I’m very excited for the future at Green Lodge!”

With over 30 years of experience in adult social care, Sharon’s new role will be a welcomed addition to the teams already in place at Green Lodge and Archers Court. We can’t wait to see Sharon truly flourish in her new role!
