Oomph Trip to Ringo Bells Pub for Cherry Trees Residents
Residents from Rotherham Care Home, Cherry Trees, hopped aboard the Oomph bus and headed to their local pub, Ringo Bells.
The pub has been open for over 50 years and is a real community hub for the local’s. The pub was hosting a community friendship lunch and invited residents from the home, members of the local community were also present and it gave the residents a great chance to socialise and meet new people. As the group sat and listened to the singer performing various songs from different decades they enjoyed a yummy two-course meal.
Residents reminisced about their younger days and danced the evening away with big smiles on their faces.
Phil had a great time and loved going to the bar and buying his own drink, it gave him a sense of independence and left him in great spirits. He luckily ran into many people he knew and told them all, “it is so lovely to be sat here having a pint of my favourite bitter, I used to do this for years!”
The evening ended with a raffle being drawn, June was one of the lucky winners and got to go home with a lovely pampering set which was she was very impressed with. Everyone had a great time and residents can’t wait to visit the pub again in a couple of weeks.
