New residents to West Yorkshire Home
Middleton Park Lodge, in West Yorkshire welcomed some furry friends to the home recently: two baby rabbits ‘Snowy’ and ‘Biscuit’. The rabbits, owned by Activity Coordinator Karen, enjoyed socialising with residents outside in the home’s brand new courtyard. The group took it in turns to hold and pet the tiny animals, whilst enjoying tea, coffee and a chat. One resident remarked, “I loved meeting the rabbits, they were so adorable and soft, we couldn’t get enough of them.” Activity Coordinator Karen said, “The rabbits enjoyed having a new environment to explore, and the residents enjoyed having something completely different to do, it is all they have talked about since.” Home Manager France Leighton added, “Animals are a great way to provoke conversation, as well as triggering pleasant memories of people’s own pets. It was a lovely way for everyone to spend the morning, with lots of reminiscence and laughter.” For news and updates from the home, visit us on Facebook: facebook.com/orcharcarehome/
