Love Is In The Air at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge

This Valentine’s Day, there was certainly something special in the air around our homes and that was certainly true at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

Shirley is a new resident at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge and although she has quickly and happily settled in, she looks forward to seeing her family and husband every day.  Shirley has been married to her husband Edwin for 60 years now.

“Her husband misses her terribly and comes to visit as often as he can, being at home without her is difficult for him”, commented Carol, one of the carers at Lofthouse Grange & Lodge.

Carol decided that it was only fitting to set up a special Valentine’s Day meal for Shirley and Edwin. Carol worked incredibly hard to decorate the dining room with all things ‘valentine’ and to prepare a candle lit dinner for the happy couple.

Not only did Carol work tirelessly to make the room look perfect, she also came into the home in her own time dressed up as a waitress, to give Shirley and Edwin the full five star dining experience.

The love struck couple laughed and chatted away all evening, enjoying their delicious food which was cooked especially for them by the homes Cook, all whilst enjoying the odd glass of fizz provided by Carol.

“Shirley’s family were delighted and touched by this emotional gesture, the entire home was buzzing with excitement and spreading the Valentine’s Day love”, added Carol.
