Love Is In The Air At Ashlea Mews Care Home

Residents at Northeast care home, Ashlea Mews are preparing early for Valentine’s day with some arts & crafts.

Everyone was truly feeling the love at Ashlea Mews, and wanted to start their Valentine’s day preparations early. They began by listening to some love songs which put a smile on everyone’s face, they then moved on to some arts and crafts.

They coloured in and painted lots of different pictures which will all go up on the display that the home are creating for the big day. The atmosphere made everyone think of their loved ones, Vera told the staff, “painting hearts just made me think of my husband and the love for him in my heart.”

They then moved on to creating their very own display made up of heart messages, they spent the day colouring and painting in pictures of hearts and personalising them with the names of their loved ones. They then took their pictures and placed them around a set of doors in the home and before they knew it the doorframe was full with their amazing creations.

Lena couldn’t stop smiling as she said, “this has bought back so many memories of my Alfie.” The session gave everyone the chance to reminisce about past valentine’s days and everyone was left in great spirits.
