Lisa-Marie’s inspiring career journey to Home Manager!
Lisa-Marie Hutchinson has recently been appointed as Home Manager of Langfield Care Home in Middleton, Manchester, and has had an incredible career journey getting there. We were excited to ask her some questions on her progression during and before joining Orchard, and about her plans for Langfield.
Lisa joined Orchard Care Homes in February 2023 as Deputy Manager of Green Park Nursing Home in Warrington. Two years later, in February 2025, she stepped up into the role as Acting Home Manager and remained in this role for six months.
Having loved this role so much, Lisa-Marie applied for the role of Home Manager when the vacancy opened at Langfield Care Home down the road, and the rest was history.
Reflecting on her journey prior to joining Orchard, Lisa-Marie remembers entering the care sector in 2009 as a Care Assistant. At this time, she was also completing her joint degree in Nursing and Social Work which meant juggling responsibilities to reach her goals!
“Between qualifying in 2012 and becoming Deputy Manager in 2023, I dedicated my life to caring for others and gained experience in a variety of different settings. I worked with children with complex needs, specialised in tracheostomy in ventilation in the community and then progressed into Mental Health nursing prior to Dementia Nursing.”

When asked how she is finding her new role as Home Manager at Langfield, Lisa-Marie told us that it is both exciting and challenging. She’s delighted to be part of such an amazing team and to be able to help drive them forward!
“My main aims for the immediate future at Langfield are to develop the team and encourage them to make the most of their progression opportunities, and to look at creating a support network for relatives who are affected by their loved ones living with dementia.”
Another plan in the works for Lisa-Marie is creating even more inclusive activity options for residents living with dementia.
In her free-time, you will find Lisa-Marie indoor or outdoor swimming, reading a good book, playing padel or coaching football to young people in the community – her skills go far beyond leadership and nursing!

The team at Langfield are already thrilled to have Lisa-Marie as part of their team, with one member of the care team adding: “It’s good to have a manager that makes us feel as supported as Lisa-Marie does, she is easy to talk to and always, always smiling!”
Thank you to Lisa-Marie for sharing her amazing career progression story with us, we can’t wait to see what she gets up to at Langfield in her new role as Home Manager. Congratulations on this new, fabulous chapter!
