Lansbury Court Celebrate British Flower Week
Lansbury Court celebrated British Flower Week by doing some gardening.
The group at the Sunderland based care home were very excited to get stuck in and make the garden look pretty. Due to the recent rain showers everyone was looking forward to brightening up the garden and welcoming the sunshine. The residents used bright coloured flowers and planted them in pots using mini spades.
This activity reminded residents of their own gardens and evoked positive memories of all the gardening they used to do in the past. Edith said “I love being in the garden, I used to have a big garden at home and I used to grow lots of flowers.”
Everyone was left with smiles on their face after the gardening session, and can’t wait to see the progress of the flowers. Iris told everyone “Being outside makes me very happy, I love planting flowers and seeing them grow, it’s very nice.”
