Eight benchmarks much be achieved within the home to be awarded the accolade of Centre of Culinary Excellence. These include FSA Food Rating - 5, Care Quality Commission (CQC) – Person centred dining experience, cooking fresh seasonal dishes from scratch and the food and menu reflects the preferences of residents. Trudy Godley, Home Manager, says “Our team of chefs here at Eckington Court are bright and enthusiastic about the work they do in the kitchen, and work hard to ensure every meal time is a pleasant experience for our residents.  The team works tirelessly to create a menu that is diverse and includes preferences from the residents as well as being as nutritious as possible. “We are very proud of the dedication and compassion that the kitchen staff show towards what they do and we are pleased that their work been noticed”. Eckington Court joins a select number of Orchard Care Homes across the country, who have already been accredited with the award. These homes will now work together to continue to drive up the food standards and expertise within the Group, taking the lead in encouraging and assisting their surrounding homes to strive for the same high standards.
