Christmas Preparations are in Full Force at Ashlea Mews Care Home
Residents and staff from Ashlea Mews Care Home are starting off their Christmas preparations by wrapping presents and taking part in arts and crafts.
The homes Christmas fayre is around the corner and in honour of the event, they have decided to play Santa and give out gifts to some of their visitors. Residents have been busy wrapping the presents for the children that will be attending the fayre and it has been a great experience. Rita said, “I’m really looking forward to seeing the children’s faces when they get their presents!”
Whilst they wrapped the presents, residents requested Christmas songs to be played, they sang along to the words with great big smiles on their faces and told staff about how this reminded them of past Christmases. Ellen, in particular, had a great day, she said, “it was so nice chatting about the past, it really took me back to the old days.”
Following this the group were feeling in a festive mood so decided to take part in some arts and crafts, they took to painting and colouring in Christmas themed pictures, from reindeers to bells they had it all.
