For Christmas jumper day both residents and staff from Ashlea Mews Care Home in South Shields dressed up in their favourite festive knit in an effort to raise money for Save the Children. They welcomed nursey children into their home and spent the afternoon singing Christmas songs.

The home continued their festivities by channelling their creativity and making Christmas stockings, everyone got involved and had great fun. This inspired them to make some Christmas puppets and put on a show, this left everyone laughing away and reminiscing about their younger days.

The celebrations were a great success with all the residents being left in good spirits, Bob told the staff, “it has been such a lovely day.”
