Chinese New Year Celebrations at Cherry Trees Care Home

At Cherry Trees Care Home, they hosted a fun-filled party for the Chinese New Year.

In honour of resident Helen, the home decided to host a party for the Chinese New Year, everyone got into the spirit and celebrated with Helen which put her in great spirits. Helen wore a traditional Chinese robe and encouraged Senior Care Assistant Angi to join her so Angi wore a traditional Chinese dress.

Residents were treated to fortune cookies, Chinese envelopes and lanterns, Helen loved all the attention to detail and thanked everyone for helping her celebrate. It was a great honour for Helen to bring her culture into the home as she shared stories about how they used to celebrate the new year in Singapore. Residents really enjoyed learning something new and can’t wait to hear more of Helen’s stories.
