Residents visited the New York stadium, home to Rotherham United last week to see the players in actions, they had a great time and were ecstatic when the team won. They were surprised this week with a visit from Shaun Macdonald, one of the players on the team, everyone in the home was very excited and couldn’t believe they were meeting him.

Jean welcomed Shaun into the home and told him all her thoughts about the match and couldn’t stop telling him how happy she was that they had won. Shaun walked around the home, meeting and talking to everyone he passed and also signing some autographs.

Then came time for Shaun to meet Margaret, she is a great fan of Rotherham United and has been for many years, her one wish was to go and watch one of their matches again and was overjoyed when she got the chance to do so last week. Meeting Shaun was the ultimate surprise for Margaret, she chatted away to him and they discussed the past players of the club and shared stories.

It was a lovely visit and everyone was very appreciative that Shaun had come to see them, he told them “it was such a pleasure to come to Cherry Trees and I am looking forward to my next visit!”
