Ashlea Lodge Introduce a Wishing Tree in to Their Home

The Sunderland based care home Ashlea Lodge treated residents and their family members by providing them with a wishing tree.

The purpose of the tree is to give them a chance to write down how they are feeling and to enable them to make a wish which the home will aim to grant for them.

The addition of this has already had such a profound effect as it has bought to light very personal feelings and provided an insight into the feelings of family members and how they are coping. Residents have noted down their wishes and dreams which they may not otherwise have shared. The staff at home are aiming to do all they can to fulfil the residents wishes.
