Procurement Manager

Orchard Care Homes are seeking to appoint a Procurement Manager. This is a newly created role that will be instrumental in defining our group policies and processes. Our Head Office is based in Harrogate where you will work closely with our stakeholders to design and implement a strategic approach to procurement and supplier management whilst supporting the day to day purchasing and procurement activities for the group.

Insight into the role…

Working with a small team, this role is a real opportunity to shape policies, processes, and ways of working around our procurement function. Realising the objectives of the organisation within the procurement strategy for the next 5years as we seek to significantly grow our estate.

Define and implement the procurement strategy and regulations across the group and ensure compliance.

  • Implement a robust framework for contract management designed to identify, monitor and escalate key supply chain risks.
  • Improve the management of key supplier relationships to deliver improvement in cost and / or service levels.
  • Undertake exercises to benchmark current pricing to the market to identify opportunities to optimise.
  • Manage the end-to-end tender process including documenting business requirements associated with the tender, preparing and issuing Invitations to Tender, issue Request for Quotation and prepare recommendation reports for new suppliers.
  • Perform a key role in the negotiation of commercial terms, conditions and levels of service (inc KPI’s) with suppliers and undertake relevant associated spend analysis to inform decision making.
  • Develop and implement KPI’s and management reporting capabilities covering the full range of procurement & purchasing activities.

About you...

You'll have a significant amount of experience within a similar role together with good interpersonal skills and a can-do attitude. You’ll be able to demonstrate strong project management skills and be proficient in the use of MS office.
